In one of the articles from the political psychology portion of the class, it was briefly mentioned that conservatives were more capable of emotions such as disgust. I recently found a TED Talk by David Pizarro (psychologist at Cornell) that argues conservatives are more prone to be disgusted. Although it sounds like one of those liberal academia propaganda that we were discussing in class, I think he does a better job in explaining how the human emotion of disgust is used to alter people's political opinions. He starts of by explaining disgust and how evolutionarily it was used to protect humans and points out to how racist or sexist propaganda seeks to create some form of disgust. This is still used today especially towards the members of the LGTB community. I think his argument might be a good explanation of why conservative politicians are more likely dirty campaign (talk bad about other candidates, humiliate them or use words that suggest disgust) I'll leave the link to the video here if incase anyone is interested- warning! it contains disgusting images! www.ted.com/talks/david_pizarro_the_strange_politics_of_disgust#t-461583
